SBU Lady 'Cats Lose to #2 Washburn 56-88

The #2 Lady Blues of Washburn put 4 players in double figures, and defeated the SBU Lady Cats 88-56 in an MIAA matchup on Wednesday night in Topeka.

Washburn's Brooke Ubelaker, the current MIAA player of the week, scored 18 on 7-15 from the field.

Livia Brito netted 12 for the Lady 'Cats. Erika Souza added 10.

SBU found themselves down 16 in the first half but battled back to get as close as 6. But it was all Washburn in the 2nd half, outscoring SBU 48-25 after the break.

Washburn came in with the #1 defense in the MIAA. They forced 26 Lady 'Cat turnovers and held SBU to 38.6% from the field.

The Lady 'Cats host Truman State on Saturday, January 20. Tipoff is at 1:30 PM.
