Amber Wheeler (#24) tallied 29 points for the Lady 'Cats
BOLIVAR, MO -- Amber Wheeler hit 29 points and Livia Brito added 12, but it wasn't enough for the SBU Lady ‘Cats to get by the Jennies of the University of Central Missouri. UCM defeated SBU 93-77. The Lady ‘Cats record now stands at 8-4 overall, 0-3 in the MIAA.

The Lady ‘Cats were out-shot in all areas. Head Coach Jim Middleton said, “93 points are unacceptable. That is the best shooting I have seen from Central. I was surprised that they shot so well from the 3-point line.”

Middleton also added “one of our goals was to rebound better, tonight we met that goal.” Rachel Graves helped the Lady ‘Cats meet this goal with 10 rebounds, SBU outrebounded Central 44-34.
Livia Brito and Amber Wheeler were the only 2 SBU players in double figures.

“We have got to change our mind set, right now we are letting our offense dictate our defense when it should be our defense that dictates our offense.” Middleton said.

The Lady ‘Cats will face Fort Hays on January 6, with tipoff at 5.30pm. Middleton said “Fort Hays is a new team. We have had a lot of success on the road so far, but have got to find a way to win this weekend.”
