The SBU Bearcats were defeated by the Henderson State Reddies 74-59 on Saturday afternoon in the Subway Holiday Tournament in Quincy, IL.

The Bearcats put 4 players in double figures, led by Jim Grabowski with 14. SBU shot 39% from the field, and 27% from the 3-point line. In the 2nd half, however, SBU connected on only a single 3-pointer in 12 attempts.

Grabowski also led the Bearcats in rebounds with 7, as SBU was out-rebounded as a team 25-46.

The Bearcats pulled within seven with 3:50 to play on a Jared Young free throw, but Henderson State used the next 1 1/2 minutes to reel off 7 unanswered points. The Reddies' largest lead was 15, which didn't emerge until the final score.

SBU falls to 5-4. They play again on Sunday at 3 PM against (at press time) an undetermined team.
