Senior Livia Brito led the Lady 'Cats with 16 points.
BOLIVAR, MO - The SBU Lady 'Cats put five players in double figures, but it wasn't enough to keep them from their first loss of the season. They fell to NW Missouri State 93-83 in overtime in a hard-fought game to open their MIAA season.

Head Coach Jim Middleton, after the game, said that his team "had a good lead near the end of the game, but our shots just stopped falling. NW Missouri State were hot many times during the game, but they were especially hot in overtime."

SBU had five players in double figures, led by Livia Brito with 16. Leslie Hanchey and Courtney Creed had seven rebounds each.
Sophomore Leslie Hanchey had 7 boards, 6 points and 4 assists for SBU.

Coach Middleton added, "It's always good to get back on the floor quickly after a tough loss, so our girls will be looking forward to Monday's game. We played hard and came here to win tonight. My players are fighters and we will be ready to play against William Woods."

SBU falls to 6-1 on the season. The Lady 'Cats are in action again on Monday night, December 11, as they host William Woods. Tipoff is at 6:00 pm.
