Freshman Matt Rogers recorded a double-double against the Newman Jets.
BOLIVAR, MO -- Five Bearcats hit double figures as SBU defeated the Newman (KS) University Jets 100-66 in the opening game of the SBU Classic at the Meyer Sports Center.

Jim Grabowski scored 20. Jason Jemison scored 17. Andy Wills scored 16. Matt Rogers recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bearcats shot 53% from the field, while holding the Jets to 36%. The Bearcats shot 42% from the 3-point line.

The Bearcats held a 52-24 lead at the half. SBU edged Kansas Newman in rebounds by a 45-42 count.

The SBU Classic continues tomorrow night (Saturday, December 2) with St. Edwards playing Newman at 6 PM, followed by Harris-Stowe vs. SBU at 8 PM.
