Jason
Jemison scored 26 (only 2 short of his career high) to lead the SBU
Bearcats to a 113-84 victory over the Missouri Baptist Spartans.
Jemison was one of seven Bearcats who scored in double figures,
including Matt Rogers with 14, Emmanuel Adigun with 13, and Andy Wills
with 13. The Bearcats out-rebounded the Spartans 63-44.
SBU led 54-41 at the half. They shot 45.9% from the field while holding the Spartans to only 38.3%.
Tonight's game was a very quick, fast-paced, 'hoop to hoop' contest with a total of 54 turnovers (SBU 26, Missouri Baptist 28).
SBU's
head coach, Jeff Guiot, was very pleased with 'how the team responded
tonight, after Saturday's loss." He added, "They are a very fine group
to coach. They care. I have to keep reminding myself that it's early.
We're going to be a good team. It just takes awhile for everyone to
discover their niche."
The Bearcats improved their record to 1-1. Missouri Baptist fell to 5-2.
The
Bearcats are back in action on November 24, as they take on Park
University in Kansas City. Gametime is at 4:00 PM at Rockhurst
University.
