BOLIVAR, MO. ... A combined 41 hits in a nine inning game led to a 22-13 loss for Southwest Baptist to the University of Sioux Falls (SD).  SBU is now 14-11 on the year.

SBU scored first in the game in the third inning when Josh Baggett grounded out to score Casey Martin.  USF followed that with an eight run top of the fourth inning that was the difference in the game.

SBU did score two in the bottom of the 4th when Bobby McMillin singled in Skyler Powers and Spencer Wilkins.

USF added three more runs in the 6th inning to make it 11-3.  SBU cut the lead to five, 11-6, with three runs in the bottom of the inning.  The highlight of the game for SBU was back-to-back home runs by Wilkins and McMillin to start the inning.  Joel Gould scored the third run on a wild pitch.

Bobby McMillin hit his 2nd home run of the year for SBU.
The Cougars went on to score 11 more runs in the next three innings for their 22 runs.  SBU had a four-run eighth inning to cut the lead to six, 18-12 but USF scored four runs in the top of the 9th to make it 22-12.  The Bearcats did not give up as they battled to the 9th where they scored one run.

Ray Kelly took the loss as he went four innings and gave up eight earned runs.  Nick Henderson followed for two innings and then Miller, Gould, and John Ihle all pitched one inning.

Wilkins led SBU with three hits on a 3-of-4 performance with one RBI.  McMillin was 2-of-3 with three RBI.  Kyle Griffin and Zane Montgomery each had two RBI.

SBU will face a tough Pittsburg State team this weekend in Pittsburg, Kansas, in a four-game MIAA series beginning on Friday.
