BOLIVAR, MO. ... Trying to get back to the NCAA Tournament and win a national championship, head women's soccer coach Ben Wade has signed 26 players for the 2006 season. Wade will be entering his second year as the SBU head coach.

""This is, without question, my strongest recruiting class in ten years," says head coach Ben Wade. "Last year was a difficult year for SBU soccer, and we will not have another season like that (7 losses by one goal). We have signed so many strong players, that I am very keen to get to work in the beggining of August."

In the class, SBU will have 20 true freshmen and six transfers. In the set of high school players, SBU will receive two sets of twins in Shannon and Vanessa Roher of Lee's Summit and Jamie and Jackie Sabel from Springfield Kickapoo.

Wade has also tapped into the talent from Missouri signing three players from the Ozarks and one from St. Louis. Along with the Sabel twins, Hilary Dorland comes to SBU from Springfield Kickapoo H.S. Ashley Cummins will travel to SBU from Marquette H.S. in St. Louis.

Wade says, "As I told our young ladies returning, next season starts today, and we will again set our sights high in the conference, region and nation. With a strong core of players returning, and a great mix of junior college and freshman signees, we will have incredible depth and talent to bring SBU to the forefront of women’s soccer"

SBU will open the season on August 26th in Bolivar against West Texas A&M.
