BOX SCORE

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Missing two big pieces of the offense in Rhiane Mitchell and Shannon Roher due to injury, SBU soccer was shut out against MIAA-leading Truman State, 4-0.

SBU got off to a rough start and a shot from Truman's Riley Mahn in the thirrd minute got by the keeper to give the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead. The Bearcats soon regained some momentum and appeared to take control of the tempo, but could not get a good look at the goal. Truman extended their lead in the 29th minute with a goal from Katie Reuck, and went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Truman went on to control most of the second half, outshooting the Bearcats 8-2, and 14-9 for the whole game.

SBU fell to 3-4 in the MIAA, and 5-4-1 overall, while Truman extended their lead in the standings to 8-1, and 8-2-2 overall. The Bearcats head out on the road again Thursday, October 8, to St. Joseph, where they will face off against Missouri Western. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
