SBU fell in the first game, 25-18; The Bearcats hung close for the most part, but could not string together a run, and Central Missouri was able to take advantage.

In the second set, UCM jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, then lengthened their lead with a six point rally that changed the score from a 7-3 Jennies advantage, to 13-3, and SBU could not recover.

The Bearcats made their run in the third set, and led 8-2 early. Central Missouri were able to come back, however, and with SBU ahead 20-16, the Jennies were able to run off nine straight points and take the third and final game, 25-20.

SBU falls to 5-8 on the season, and starts out 0-1 in the MIAA schedule. The Bearcats will next travel to Omaha to face the Lady Mavs from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at 5:00 pm. The next home game for the 'Cats is next Tuesday, September 22, against Truman State, starting at 7:00 p.m.
