SBU trio earns All-MIAA honorable mention in women's tennis

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- SBU's No. 1 through No. 3 singles players, Jolee Cook, Johanna Olsson and Jenna Hendrickson, earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention in their respective flights in conference honors announced Wednesday.

Johanna Olsson
Cook, a junior from Rowlett, Texas, won honorable mention honors at No. 1 singles. Her doubles partner Olsson took honorable mention at No. 2 singles. Olsson is also a junior and hails from Gothenberg, Sweden. SBU's No. 3 in singles was Hendrickson, a sophomore from Tulsa, Okla.


Washburn junior Trang Le Nguyen was named MIAA Most Valuable Player while her teammate Abbey Sharpe was Freshman of the Year. Lindsy Blair of Truman earned the MIAA Sportsmanship Award and Northwest Missouri's Mark Rosewell was named Coach of the Year, after leading his team to its 11th conference title.

SBU finished 8-9 on the season and fell to Nebraska-Omaha 5-3 in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.
