HAYS, Kan. -- The SBU women's tennis got back on the winning track, beating Fort Hays State 8-1 on the road to close out their 2009 MIAA play. SBU will finish in fifth place in the regular season standings.
It was a strong performance by the Bearcats, as in only one match did SBU even drop a set. SBU took five of six singles matches in straight sets and controlled the doubles matches.
Next up for the Bearcats will be Tuesday, April 21, when Missouri-St. Louis visits SBU for women's and men's non-conference contests that will be the final home matches of the regular season. The Bearcats will then play in the MIAA Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26 at Kansas City's Plaza Tennis Center.
