KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The SBU softball Bearcats split with Truman in doubleheader action on Saturday, with both games ending with identical 2-1 scores.

Game one was an extra-inning contest, with the host Bulldogs rallying to edge the Bearcats. Truman (10-23, 2-8 MIAA) got single runs in the bottom of the seventh and then scored with two outs in the eighth to win the game.

Sarah Brison homered to provide the only run for the Bearcats (17-29, 2-10 MIAA). Josie Rose went the distance and allowed just two runs, but picked up the tough loss.

The Bearcats reversed the scored in the second contest and snapped their 11-game losing streak. Brittney Wood went seven innings, allowing just one run to pick up the win. Krysta Baderdeen went 2-for-4 for SBU.

Each team got single runs in the first inning, with SBU's coming when Brison would single to drive in Katrina Munoz. SBU would take the lead in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Jenny Sare that plated Nina Amaro Garcia.

SBU hosts Lincoln this Tuesday, April 14, in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
