SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcat women's tennis team defeated Emporia State 5-0 to even their record at 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the MIAA. The match was originally scheduled to be played in Bolivar, but was moved to Springfield's indoor Cooper Tennis Complex due to weather.
Like the SBU men's tennis squad, the SBU women didn't drop a set to the visiting Emporia State team. SBU took all three doubles matches before securing the victory with singles wins from Jolee Cook and Johanna Olsson. With both teams have matches on Saturday and limited court availability, singles #3 through #6 were not completed.
SBU hosts Washburn on Saturday (tomorrow) in dual match action beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Bryant Tennis Center.
