AUSTIN, Texas -- The #22 SBU Bearcat men's tennis team scored a key regional victory after knocking off #23 St. Edwards 5-4 on Wednesday in Texas. The Bearcats went 3-0 in their Texas road trip this week.

Marton Zsiga, Emilio El Alabi and Agustin Mollar scored victories at #1 through #3 singles matches versus the Hilltoppers. Jorge Margiotta earned a three set victory at #5 singles and the doubles pair of Mollar and Tyler Welch won 9-8.

SBU (6-5 overall, excluding matches with junior colleges) will be in action next Friday & Saturday (April 3-4) in Macolm, Illinois, when they battle Western Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville and Chicago State. SBU's previously scheduled matches for this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Dallas Baptist, East Central and Newman were rained out.
