RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- SBU picked up a split on day two of the Arkansas Tech Spring Slam Tournament, beating Ouachita Baptist 6-4 before falling to Arkansas-Monticello 9-1 to even their record at 2-2.

Head coach Christy Capner said the first win was sloppy. "We came out slow with the bats," Capner said. "Josie Rose was able to come in and close the game out for us. Krysta Baderdeen played well for us."

"We were hesitant at times in both games," Capner added. "We have to be more aggressive and sure of ourselves."

Stats for the Ouachita game were not available. Katrina Munoz doubled and scored for the 'Cats in the second game.

The softball Bearcats will host Henderson State this Friday, February 13, with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Bolivar.
