SBU track and field coach Corey McElhaney said that "our athletes surpassed my expectations. Each athlete really stepped up. Our distance medley team knew this one of their few chances to qualify for nationals and they took advantage of the opportunity. For them to run so well on Friday and then come back on Saturday and everyone ran personal bests in their open events was just awesome."
McElhaney added, "We still have a month until conference, so we're working hard and focusing on getting better as we prepare for the conference meet."
