BOLIVAR, Mo. –-The SBU women's team defeated Central Methodist, 66-50, in the last non-conference game of the season for the Bearcats.
Courtney Creed scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, to lead both teams in both categories.
"She gave us some much-needed energy," said head coach, JC Carter of Creed. "She stepped up and gave us some good leadership, both on offense and defense. Intensity like that is contagious. I was also very happy with Jaime’s [Garrett] play tonight. She came up big inside tonight."
"But we’ve got to do a better job in the area of turnovers, and play with more confidence."
Garrett scored 14 for SBU, on 7 of 12 from the field.
As a team, the Bearcats shot 40.0% from the field, 27.3% from long range, and 61.5% from the free throw line.
SBU's record stands at 3-6, and is 2-1 at home. They are in action next on December 29 against Missouri Southern with a scheduled tipoff at 5:30.
