BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Southwest Baptist University director of athletics Brent Good has
named Justin Wollard as the assistant to the director of athletics for
media relations.
"The position was posted on the SBU website
immediately after the announcement that Mike Pitts had accepted the
assistant director of athletics for operations. I am very excited that
Justin applied for this position," commented Good. "Justin has worked
very closely with SBU athletics in many ways. Justin is known as the
'Voice of the Bearcats', serving as our public address announcer for
football and basketball. He's also the announcer for Bolivar Liberator
varsity football. Justin has many strengths which will enhance SBU
athletics."
Prior to moving into athletics, Justin served in
the SBU marketing and communications office, designing the layout of
SBU Life, admissions recruiting materials, department brochures along
with the covers for the athletics media guides, sports schedule posters
and cards. Justin has a strong background in graphics and publication
design, as well as experience in web design. He will complete his
duties in the marketing office and join the athletics staff beginning
January 1, 2009, handling all athletics media relations.
"I
want to thank those on the athletics staff who have taken on extra
duties during this transitional time," expressed Good, "I feel this
will be a good time to make this transition as the fall sports have
ended and the winter sports are beginning. I look forward to working
with Justin, and I know he will be a great asset to the department of
athletics, SBU, and the Bolivar, Springfield, and surrounding areas.
"SBU
President Dr. C. Pat Taylor added, "Justin has been a great employee
for SBU. He has done an outstanding job for us in graphic design, and
he is going to be a great asset to the athletics department as the new
assistant to the director of athletics for media relations. He is
well-known with the local media, so this should be a very smooth
transition. I also want to express my appreciation to Mike Pitts for
the outstanding job he has done as the assistant to the director of
athletics for media relations."
