Bearcat Volleyball Knocks Down Tigers Fort 3-1

BOLIVAR, Mo. --  Bearcats defeat Fort Hays Tigers 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 15-18, 25-21)

The game started with an emotional goodbye to the two Bearcat seniors Shyrah Perry and Joy Oatman as they played one of their last matches in the Purple and White of SBU.

The Bearcats were led to their win by Ashley Jurgensmeyer and Kinsey Palmer who both had 12 kills. They were closely followed by Katie Dusenberg who had 11 kills.

Brianna Wallace led the team in assists with 47, her total for the season 1,078.

Senior Shyrah Perry had 26 digs, bringing her career total to 1,647.

Head Coach Kelly Richardson said "I am very proud of the way my girls player on senior day. We were able to make adjustments during the match and improved because of them."

The Bearcats are now 13-17. They will host Emporia State on November 11 at 7pm for their final home match of the 2008 season.
