The SBU Men's Basketball lost 79-87 to Southern Illinois University in an Exhibition Match

Carbondale, Ill. – The SBU Men’s Basketball lost 79-87 to Southern Illinois University in an exhibition match. It was the first chance the Bearcats had this season to play together in a game like environment.

The Bearcats were behind by 18 points with 1 minute 38 seconds remaining but went on a 14-0 run in 69 seconds, which cut the lead to 4.

Pre Season All-American pick Matt Rogers scored 19 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and had 5 blocked shots.

D’Ante Harris and Nick Kovacevich scored 17 and 15 respectively.

Bearcats trailed by only one point at half time.

The Bearcats will open their season November 15, when they take on Utah in Salt Lake City. Head Coach Jeff Guiot will be looking for his 300th career win. Tip-off 3pm.
