ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The SBU soccer team defeated Missouri Western, 3-0, to bring their record to 9-4-3 on the season.

Nicola Cousins scored two goals for SBU to lead the attack. Krysten Clardy added a goal.

Clardy's goal broke a 0-0 tie in the second half to begin the scoring in the 47th minute. Cousins' goals were in the 55th and 64th minutes.

"The girls played at a good level during the 2nd half," said SBU's assistant coach, Mitchell Browning. "They played with a lot of heart and kept going. The first half was sloppy, but we played much better in the last part of the game."

SBU's record in the MIAA is now 8-4-2. Their next game is with Nebraska-Omaha on November 6.
