SBU Soccer Ties 2-2 at Washburn

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The SBU Bearcats tied Washburn, 2-2, in a back and forth match.

SBU got on the board first as Nicola Cousins hit the back of the net on the free kick from the left corner in the 11th minute of the match.

Washburn's Lisa Fahey tied the match in the 34th minute on an unassisted goal.

SBU's Rhiane Mitchell re-took the lead for the Bearcats just 7 minutes later, on a strike from 23 yards out assisted by Shannon Roher.

Washburn, however, re-tied the matdh in the 68th minute as Lauren Henry scored a goal from 10 yards out, assisted by Jessica Mainz.

The Bearcats were out-shot as a team tonight, 28-9.

The tie leaves SBU 8-3-3 on the season, with a 7-3-2 record in the MIAA
