BOLIVAR, Mo. – The SBU Bearcats bounced back in a big way, by defeating Truman State, 1-0, on the SBU Soccer Field.

SBU’s Terri Beddows scored in the 16th minute of the contest, for the only goal of the day. Beddows was served by Nicola Cousins.

SBU’s Johanna Olsson earned the shutout in goal.

"I was happy with our character today," said SBU’s head coach, Benjamin Wade. "This was very great today, especially with the disappointing loss earlier this week. But we addressed some things as a team, and bounced back from adversity."

The Bearcats took 7 shots today (2 on goal) to Truman’s 11 (3 on goal).

The win gives SBU a 7-2-1 record, with a 4-2-1 record in the MIAA. Their next game is on October 14, as they host Quincy.
