BOLIVAR, Mo. – The SBU Bearcats will defend their 6-0-0 record against two nationally ranked teams this week, as they host #13 Nebraska-Omaha on Thursday and travel to #4 Truman on Saturday. These rankings are likely to change early this week, as UNO defeated Truman, 2-0, on Saturday.

SBU is tied for the top spot in the conference with Central Missouri, who also has a 5-0-0 MIAA record. SBU is the only team with a perfect overall record.

Through their first four contests, SBU has out-scored their opponents, 27-4, and has out-shot them, 146-60. As a team, the Bearcats have scored twice as many total goals in the 2nd half (18) than in the 1st half (9). Rhiane Mitchell and Nicola Cousins, who are at the very top of the nation’s leader boards, are providing the bulk of the Bearcat’s offense. Mitchell has 29 points and 12 goals through the first six games. Cousins has 28 points and 10 goals.

"We are going to stay consistant with what we’ve said all season," said SBU’s head coach, Benjamin Wade. "And that is that we’re playing each game one at a time, looking at every single game as the most important of the season, and not looking ahead. UNO is a lot like Washburn in that they are very fast and athletic. They are experienced and have a great soccer tradition. We’re counting on our home fans Thursday, to come out, pack the place and cheer us on."
