Bearcat Volleyball: 3 Big Wins in Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The SBU Bearcat volleyball team defeated Incarnate Word in five sets (22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14) to move to 2-1 on the 2008 season.

SBU's Rachel Sawyer led the Bearcats in kills, with 15. Brianna Wallace had 40 sets in the victory.

SBU then defeated Tarleton State (20-25, 25-23, 30-32, 25-19, 15-11) to close out their 4-match classic in Texas. SBU's Kelsey Stewart recorded a SBU-high 18 kills.

SBU moves to 3-1 on the season, and plays Rockhust on September 5 in Bolivar in their opening game of the SBU Tournament.
