Jennifer Gillespie
WALNUT, Calif. -- SBU's Jennifer Gillespie logged a time of 1:02.22 in the 400 meter hurdles, which qualified her for the finals of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Gillespie, one of seventeen women to qualify for the nations, is one of nine runners in the finals. She must place in the top eight to be recognized as an All-American.

She is the first female athlete to represent SBU at a national meet since Sherri Taylor qualified in the high jump in the late 1980s. Should Gillespie earn the status of All-American, she would be the first female runner from SBU to earn that distinction.
