KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- SBU's Eric Wallace has been named as the MIAA Pitcher of the Week.

Wallace, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound sophomore from Republic, Mo., held Central Missouri to four hits and one run to get the decision in the Bearcats' win over the 17th-ranked Mules in last weekend's series, 4-1, Saturday (April 12).

He escaped a bases-loaded jam in the second after he allowed a single and issued two of his three walks in the game before allowing his only run of the game, a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning. Wallace finished by retiring 10 of the last 11 batters he faced -- walking one more and getting all six of his strikeouts in the last three innings. He also had one hit batsman in the contest.

Wallace is a graduate of Republic High School.
