BOLIVAR, MO - SBU put 5 players in double figures tonight and handed Missouri Western a convincing defeat 95-75.

SBU shot 65.5% from the field tonight on 38-58. The Bearcats were 72.4% from the field in the first half on 21-29.

Jason Jemison was 9-12 for 22 points. Jared Young was 7-11 for 21 points. Jim Grabowski flirted with a triple double with 17 points, 11 boards, and 7 assists. Jesus Lopez was 5-5 from the field. Andy Wills was 5-7.

Coach Jeff Guiot explained the surge in shooting accuracy.

"Tonight, especially in the first half, we were making the extra pass. It was the most unselfish we've been all year. That extra pass created more layups - higher percentage shots. Good passing creates good shooting. That's why we shot 72% in the first half and 65% for the game."

SBU had 29 assists to Western's 10.

Matt Rogers had 3 more swats tonight - adding to his MIAA lead.

SBU's record climbs to 12-8, 6-5 in the MIAA. The Bearcats travel to Truman on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 tip. Truman is 4th in the MIAA, ahead of SBU by a half game. Unless Truman beats Central tonight (1/31), SBU will have an opportunity to move to 4th with a win against Truman on Saturday.
