The General Art Major is designed to be flexible.

General Art Major -- B.S. Degree (a minimum of 18 hours of Electives in Art with a minimum of 9 hours of 3000 or 4000 level courses.)

Keep in mind that you must present a grand total of at least 128 hours of college work for graduation, 40 hours of which must be 3000 and 4000 level courses. There may be any number of reasons you might consider taking more hours in Art than the minimum. You should consider completing at least one 18 hour concentration in one of the studio arts. If you are anticipating working toward the M.F.A. degree in studio art after graduation you would also need in addition a minor in another studio art of from 9 to 12 hours with a total of 60-70 hours in Art. Otherwise your future plans may suggest a minor from the practical arts such as business, computer science or your second favorite subject.
