If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, then a sports marketing major could be a great fit for you!
As a sports marketing major, you will take courses in both sports and marketing and graduate with a unique degree. You will have the opportunity to complete an internship in the sports marketing field, which will allow you to apply what you are learning in the classroom.
Psalm 15 - The SBU College of Business and Computer Science's Psalm 15 initiative provides intentional integration of faith and academic discipline. Using Psalm 15 as a basis, the College has identified eight character traits that should be the hallmark of the College's students and graduates. These character traits are emphasized in coursework and in a special lecture series. The highlighted character traits are: Integrity, Service, Respect, Charity, Faithfulness, Truthfulness, Humility and Perseverance.
Ethics and Professional Development — As part of an intentionally Christian education, all students in the College of Business and Computer Science take a senior-level course in Ethics and Professional Development. The course teaches Christian personal and professional ethics and equips students with life skills such as career development, etiquette, and personal financial planning, with the goal of producing ethical business leaders who will be servant leaders in the workplace.

SBU Enactus (formerly Students in Free Enterprise) is a team of servant leaders that promotes free enterprise education as a critical means of preparing others to lead rewarding, self-sufficient lives in a global society. Working in partnership with businesses and higher education, Enactus is a global, not-for-profit organization that coordinates and motivates teams of university students who teach others an understanding of the principles and values of market economics. SBU Enactus has won its regional competition nearly every year since 1985 and has gone on to succeed at the national level, ranking as high as the top 8 in the nation in recent years.
SBU’s PBL team, the collegiate version of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), competes nationally in various categories. In 2015, team members placed in the top five at the national level.
This national business administration honor society recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students through lifetime membership in this business community.
The Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science (COBACS) offers many privately funded department and college-level scholarship opportunities for its students. During the 2015-16 academic year, more than $64,000 was awarded in private scholarships to COBACS students.
