Rodney Reeves, 2006 Parkway Distinguished ProfesorDr. Rodney Reeves, Professor and Dean of the Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry, is the recipient of the 2006 Parkway Distinguished Professor Award. This award is made possible by the Parkway Baptist Church of St. Louis Missouri.

The Christian College Education Commitee at Parkway Baptist Church recently invited SBU to nominate an outstanding faculty member to be considered for this award. The Nomination submission from SBU states, "As a disciple of Christ, Reeves has portrayed a servant's heart and Godly leadership. He is a man who demonstrates his personal convictions in and out of the classroom. Students, faculty, administation, and staff have been recipients of his caring nature, his academic excellence, and wise leadership. He serves as a Christian role model to all as he generously invests himself in the lives of his students and colleagues."

Reeves became a faculty member at Southwest Baptist University in August 2000, and he has served for the past three years as dean. He received his bachelor's degree from Southwest Baptist University in 1979, completed his Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1986. Since that time he has been youth minister, associate pastor, pastor, interim pastor of various churches senior pastor, adjunct faculty, faculty member, department chair, and dean. Reeves has been active in professional activities, presented papers, held offices in various orgainizations, spoken at various events, and has had numerous papers / articles, and books published.

Reeves and his wife, Sheri, are active members of First Baptist Church in Bolivar. They have three children.
