Craig Endres, 2008 Faculty Life Beautiful Recipient2008 Faculty Life Beautiful Award

Craig Endres

The designation “life beautiful” is the highest honor a person can receive at Southwest Baptist Univety. Each year at the employee Christmas banquet, we honor a faculty member who exemplifies a “life beautiful.”

The Faculty Life Beautiful award was established in 1987 through a generous gift from an anonymous donor. To be eligible for the faculty life beautiful award, a faculty member must have been employed at SBU for four consecutive years, have full-time faculty status and teach a minimum of six hours per semester during the academic year. Full-time faculty vote for the Faculty Life Beautiful award through a balloting process coordinated by the provost’s office.

Endres has been part of the University faculty since 1993. Dr. Dutile said his colleagues describe Endres as "kind, enthusiastic about teaching; he genuinely cares about his students and consistently displays Christian character." He is involved in the "Growing by Sharing" program and serves on the science committee of the Bolivar Community Watershed Improvement group. Endres also serves as a "Stream Team" leader.

Endres earned his bachelor's degree from John Brown University, his master's degree from the University of Arkansas and his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin.

Endres and his wife Heidi have four children: Hannah, Emily, Gretchen and Matthew. They attend First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
