SBU Accounting Alumni Scholarship Ready for Applicants

 SBU Accounting Alumni have funded a scholarship specifically designed to attract quality Accounting majors to Southwest Baptist University.  Many alumni have participated in funding the scholarship thus far, and alumni may still contribute toward making this one of SBU's premier scholarships.  Contact Cindy Rice at SBU Development, crice@sbuniv.edu, for contribution information.

 The scholarship is available to incoming freshman Accounting majors at SBU for their initial academic year at SBU.  It is anticipated up to five $600 scholarships will be awarded in March, 2008 based on a review of applicants by the Accounting Department and SBU's Private Scholarship Office.

 Primary consideration will be given to applicants based on the following criteria:

1. A stated intent to major in Accounting,

2. An ACT score (or equivalent SAT score) of 24 or above, and

3. Evaluation of written responses to appropriate questions about Accounting-related topics.
