Freshman Shannon Kirkpatrick from Wichita makes fast friends with  SBU freshman ACC major, Kim Steinkruger from Amarillo, Texas.  In the background is one of our COBACS "Psalm 15" themes, humility.  The other themes (one per semester) are:  integrity, truthfulness, faithfulness, service, respect, charity, and perseverance.  Shannon was honored with the "Psalm 15 Student Award."

David Olson, senior Accounting major from Kansas City, serves as the SBU Student Government Association Treasurer. David "interned" through the Kansas City Rubin, Brown CPA firm in summer 2006 and now works for the Missouri State Auditors Office. Olson

 
Nascar 2006 NASCAR "chicks" can't get away from the tube long enough to start Intermediate Accounting class.  These two "honors" grads from 2006 are serving in the International Tax Dept. at Fortune-500 firm, Leggett & Platt.
RIGHT: Jesse Dziurawiec (we call him DZ) interned at BKD in Springfield summer, 2005.  DZ was the SBU Bearcats baseball catcher and began his permanent job at BKD in January, 2006.

LEFT: May 2006 grads, Rhi Hickman, Candice Ferrell, and Brandon Taylor visited Buffalo High School to talk to accounting students and give helpful insight about college education and accounting careers. Brandon began his BKD career in 2006 and is in an ELITE group--he passed the ENTIRE CPA exam his first time.  Rhi and Candice are international tax accountants for Leggett & Platt in Joplin.

Above:  Brooke Vercellino, a transfer from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale also leads many campus ministry activities.  This spring she is coordinating all the Disciple Now programs that SBU students help lead throughout the area.  Brooke interned with an Atlanta-based Christian ministry provider in summer, 2006.
