SBU Accounting Majors Win State-Wide Scholarship Designated for Future CPAs

For six of the last seven years, an incoming SBU freshman Accounting major has been awarded one of the six to eight state-wide Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) LEAP Scholarships. The LEAP (Lead and Enhance the Accounting Profession) program is the MSCPA’s initiative to inform quality high school students about the wide-ranging career opportunities for accountants, especially those who are able to earn the coveted CPA credential.  The 2010 winner was Meg Goodman from Cape Girardeau, Missouri., and the 2012 winner is Jenna Durnell from El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Senior Caleb Harris, Jackson, Missouri, also won the top LEAP Scholarship in the state, the Don Breimeier Memorial Scholarship Winner.
