SBU Accounting Majors Win Scholarship Designated for Future CPAs

For two consecutive years, an incoming Southwest Baptist University freshman Accounting major has been awarded one of the ten state-wide Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) LEAP Scholarships. The LEAP (Lead and Enhance the Accounting Profession) program is the MSCPA’s initiative to inform quality high school students about the wide-ranging career opportunities for accountants, especially those who are able to earn the coveted CPA credential.  The SBU freshmen who have won this award include:

Fall 2005:  Katy Stanford; Bolivar, MO                            Fall 2006:  Rachel Tag; Pilot Grove, MO

The LEAP Scholarship is also available to current college Accounting majors.  In 2003, SBU senior Accounting major Jeff Case also won this state-wide scholarship.
