SBU Accounting Majors Win Scholarship Designated for Future CPAs

For five of the last six years, an incoming Southwest Baptist University freshman Accounting major has been awarded one of the ten state-wide Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) LEAP Scholarships. The LEAP (Lead and Enhance the Accounting Profession) program is the MSCPA’s initiative to inform quality high school students about the wide-ranging career opportunities for accountants, especially those who are able to earn the coveted CPA credential.  The 2009 freshman winner was Caleb Harris from Jackson, Missouri and the 2010 winner is Meg Goodman from Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
