Special Diet and Menu Options
Students, faculty, and staff who have special dietary needs due to specific medical conditions (including food allergies, diabetes, Crohn's disease, Celiac Disease, chronic kidney disease, high cholesterol, gout, and others) are encouraged to contact the Director of Food Service at the Fresh Ideas Food Service Management Office, which is located inside the Mellers Dining Commons in the Goodson Student Union.
Sack-meals-to-go can be requested by students, faculty, and staff members who carry a 20-meal plan, a 15-meal plan or a Super Bearcat Bucks meal plan. Sack meals are only made available to persons who cannot come to the Mellers Dining Commons – during the facility’s posted service hours – for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Sack meal requests must be made in advance and approved through the Fresh Ideas Food Service Management Office.
Sick-meals-to-go can be requested by students who carry a 20-meal plan, a 15-meal plan, or a Super Bearcat Bucks meal plan if they are unable to come to Mellers Dining Commons to get their breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Sick meal requests must be made in advance and approved through the Fresh Ideas Food Service Management Office. For residence hall students, there are additional sick meal options (chicken noodle soup, crackers, and Sprite) that can be obtained through their resident director.
