All SBU students have the option of enrolling in the SBU Alert program to receive emergency notifications from Safety and Security, Student Life or University Communications. SBU Alert will notify student subscribers via text message and/or email as well as through the SBU website should there be the need for an emergency notification. Subscribers may also be notified via RSS feeds, and personalized web pages from Google, My Yahoo and AOL.

Click on Create an Account to get started and subscribe to the notification group(s) that you would like to be included in. If you have already created an account you can login to update your account information at any time.

Parent Sign Up

SBU Parents can sign up for SBUAlert in two ways.

  1. Have your student add your mobile phone number to their account. To do this, the student must first log into the SBUAlert system, select the "Services" tab, then when prompted with a menu, indicate a second mobile phone number and carrier. A message will be sent to your phone.
  2. Parents can sign up independently using the form above.
