BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University’s Chorale will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 in Pike Auditorium on the University campus. Admission is free and a reception for the audience will be held afterward backstage.
The centerpiece of the evening’s concert will be the Schicksalslied, Op. 54 by Johannes Brahms. Other composers represented on the program include Randall Thompson, Eric Whitacre and Ernani Aguiar with styles ranging from the classical to the modern era.
The Chorale is a selectively auditioned mixed choir whose repertoire regularly spans over 500 years of music history. The choir has performed extensively throughout the country and the world. The Chorale recently has completed a series of seven performances throughout the state of Missouri and accepted performance invitations in Austria and the Czech Republic for May of 2009.
