BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University’s department of mathematics recently hosted the Ninth Annual Math Contest on Jan. 26 and Feb. 2. On Jan. 26, 339 students in 3rd grade to 8th grade from 35 Missouri schools arrived on SBU’s Bolivar campus to competed in the math contest. On Feb. 2, 304 students from 18 Missouri schools competed.

Several SBU faculty and students helped throughout both days to keep the competitions running smoothly. Dr. Hopkins said students, parents, and teachers were pleased with the event:
“My math kids had a wonderful time and want to come back again,” said Monica Andrews of Nixa.
“Parents like me are thrilled to have our children participate in such pleasant, positive and well-organized events,” said Beena Ramaswami, a parent of one of the competitors.
