Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? "I really appreciate the opportunity to build relationships with my students and colleagues here."
Educational Background: Smashey earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Southwest Baptist University, and a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Art in Piano Performanceat the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Professional activities: Smashey is active as a piano soloist and accompanist, and maintains a private studio of pre-college piano students.
Church activities: Smashey attends University Heights Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri, where she serves as pianist.
