Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? "The 'family' of music students, faculty and staff within our department strikes that coveted balance between being large enough to produce a great variety of musical experiences for our students, yet small enough that everyone knows and supports one another."
Educational Background: Waters earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University, and a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Georgia.
Professional Activities: Waters participates in solo saxophone recitals and professional performances in a variety of venues in the region. He is the state secretary/treasurer of the Missouri Association of Departments and Schools of Music, and a member of the Music Educators National Conference and Missouri Music Educators Association.
Faith Dedications: Waters is a member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Missouri. He leads the orchestra, plays piano for worship services, and plays piano for the middle school choir.
