Courses Taught: All Spanish courses at SBU from first semester elementary Spanish through senior level literature courses. Goss also teaches Methods of Teaching Foreign Language at both the senior and graduate levels.

Why do you like teaching at SBU? "I like teaching at SBU because of wonderful students, great coworkers, and beautiful campus."

Education and Professional Background: Goss earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1977 from Texas Tech Univerisity in Lubbock, Texas, majoring in Latin American Area Studies and minoring in Spanish and Anthropology. He later completed the Master of Arts at Texas Tech in 1994, with a major in Romance Languages, concentrating in Spanish with minors in Romance Linguistics and Portuguese. He has also done course work toward the Ph.D. at Texas Tech.

Faith Dedications: Goss is a member at First Baptist Church, Bolivar, Missouri and plays the violin in the church orchestra. He has also played in the SBU orchestra. Goss served as translator for several mission trips to Mexico and Nicaragua and takes a group of students to Panama every January, where they do mission work with the indigenous and Latin communities. "I believe that every Christian is called to show Christ through our actions, as well as our words. We are to serve him with all that we have and all that we are. We are all missionaries, even if we don't consider ourselves as being missionaries."
