Dorm Net Instructions

The dorm net instructions are for setting up your personal computer connection to the SBU network from any dorm except Manor and Roseman Apartments. Depending on how your individual computer system is set up, to complete this process you will need one or more of the following items:

• Windows setup disks or CD or the Windows cab files on the hard drive (For Windows 95 and 98: the cab files may be located under C:\Windows\Options\Cabs OR you can run a search for Win*.cab to see if they are loaded on the hard drive)
• Network card
• Network card drivers disk
• Cat 5e Patch cord

Please follow the instructions carefully. If you have questions or need assistance call the Help Desk at 1782. Be sure to have an accurate description of your problem or error message to relay to the Help Desk staff. If needed, an appointment may be set up for a member of Computer Services to visit your machine.
