Ian and Elizabeth Miller

Thailand

May 26, 2006 - Hello again.  We hope you are having a nice Memorial Day weekend.  Today is the first sunny day we've had for about a week and a half.  Though the constant rain can be a bit glum, the rainy weather has brought cooler temperatures.

May 10, 2006 - It has been a couple of weeks since our last update and much has happened.  A mission team from Joplin, MO came on the 28th of April to put on two VBS half-day camps and a mobile clinic.  I (Ian) helped with the mobile clinic.

April 27, 2006 - Hello.  It has been a little while since we have written.  We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation time and sightseeing around Thailand.  We spent three days in Chiang Mai to celebrate Songkran.

April 5, 2006 - The weather is sure warming up on this side of the globe.  We're thankful to have a few weeks off from teaching English.  This week, we are staying at the clinic while our host family and the m's go to a meeting.  Next week, we have plans to visit Nan, Chiang Mai, and Phuket (Southern Thailand - the country's largest island).

March 24, 2006 - It's been another hot week here in Thailand.  On Tuesday I (Elizabeth) went to visit Kluay (one of my students).  Kluay took me to another student's house, Nok.  Nok and her sister along with many other children and the grandmother were home.

March 18, 2006 - This week was rather challenging for me (Elizabeth) as many things that I tried to do seemed to end up flopping (plus I was sick).  This is always frustrating, but I must admit the feeling was magnified in a foreign country.

March 10, 2006 - We have had a very interesting and exciting last two weeks.  I (Ian) have had the opportunity to be a part of two different teams that go out each week to minister to different tribal villages.  We have also had the occasion to go to Chiang Rai for one night and then to Myanmar(formally Burma) to have our visas renewed.

February 23, 2006 - Hello again.  We hope you are enjoying the winter weather.  It's getting really hot here!  We're having fun teaching English, and we're getting to know some of the students better, which is exciting.

February 16, 2006 - We had a wonderful Valentine's Day, and we hope you did, too.  We were in charge of Valentine's Day games after church on Sunday.

February 10, 2006 - Here is a shot of the "dinner table" at the house where we stayed in the village.  This trip was our first "real" northern Thai experience since Ajan Samaan and P. Nok pretty much live like westerners (they are around m's all the time).

February 10, 2006 - Hello!  We have another update to give you about the weddings we attended!  We hope you are doing well.  We are having a great day today as we have had the chance to really check our email and read the letters you have sent.  Our hearts are brimming - we enjoy hearing news from you so much.

February 3, 2006 - The dorm building right now is pretty rough and simple.  It is approximately 15' X 30' and is made of concrete block with cement mortar and a concrete floor.  This is a view of the side that faces Ajan Samaan and P. Nok's house.

February 3, 2006 - Hello!  We are truly enjoying our time here in Thailand as we are getting to know the people better.  I don't know if we could have found a friendlier, more fun-loving people (of course we are a bit biased.) with which to live for six months.

January 27, 2006 - This is a picture of the house where we are living for our home stay in Pua.  This is the living room.  Our host parents are Ajan Samaan and P. Nok.  Ajan Samaan built this house one year ago.

January 27, 2006 - We have successfully endured two weeks of our home stay!  We've had a great time getting to know Ajan Samaan and P. Nok.  They are wonderful people and truly have a heart for ministry, especially among young people.

January 11, 2006 - We thought we would send a few pictures before we begin our home stay.  The first few pictures are from our few days in Bangkok and the other few are from Northern Thailand in Chiang Klang where the Baptist Clinic is located.

January 11, 2006 - We have arrived in Bangkok!  We arrived around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 8.  A m picked us up from the airport and brought us to the guest house at which we've been staying...
