November
28, 2005 - This will be the last time writing
all of you until I arrive back in the States on December 12. I want you
to know that all your yarping and encouragement has made a difference.
November
15, 2005 - Be careful, then, how you live-not
as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because
the days are evil." (Eph. 5:15-16) Our final 2 weeks have officially
arrived, and we are hopping, trying to make the most of every chance
because the days are indeed very short!
November 7,
2005 - This last week has been pretty busy but
surprisingly efficient. One of our goals has been to connect our
supervisor and his team with all our local Cousin contacts here in
town.
October 31,
2005 - This week I had to improve my
vocabulary as I no longer can say that "My age is 21 years" in Bangla. I
now am forced to say that my age is 22, although they might call it
"23 running." We've had a very busy week since I last wrote
October 23,
2005 - This past week the weather has gotten
cooler; showers are now a matter of strategic planning. The hope is
that if you shower in the afternoon or early evening the black water
tanks on the roof will have been heated a bit by the sun, giving a
little warm water.
October 12, 2005 - Holiday Greetings from
West Bengal! I know what all of you are probably thinking-what holiday
is Josh talking about?
October 3,
2005 -
Happy October! Hello
friends! Well, my e-mail list keeps growing by the week. I'm not
really sure if it's because everyone simply can't get enough of my
wonderful stories, or because with the advent of "Spam Blocking
Software" people simply don't have enough useless letters to satisfy
their inner desire to delete something!
September
26, 2005 - Jakon power ache, takon ami khub kushi.
(When there is power, then I am very happy!) This last week has been
power line maintenance week in our neighborhood. Like clockwork, when
9:45 am came around, we were without power
September
19 - Yet another exciting (sometimes) week of
West Bengal life has come and gone. This week we have done a little of
everything it seems. On Tuesday, we went out to a primary school in a
largely Cousin village.
September
12, 2005 - Another exciting week of West Bengal
life has come to a close. As always, it was full of many
ups-and-downs, and that was just the 4 hour bus ride on Wednesday! The
temperature has increased as the rains have definitely slowed down,
September
5, 2005 - Well, this last week was definitely a welcome relief
from the heat and an excellent time of learning as Nick and I headed
up on a company-funded trip to Darjeeling.
August 26, 2005 - Dear Friends, Blessings and peace to each of you! This week we have slowed things down a bit, partially to get some school things done (although I've been about two months ahead in school work) and to catch up on our friendships around town and our neighborhood.
August 22, 2005 - Dear friends, Grace and peace to each of you! It amazes me to think that back home school for many has started and the summer is ending. What we have missed in the "Dog Days" of August, we have made up for in fluctuating temperatures due to rain.
August 15, 2005 - Dear friends: Today is the 15th of August, India’s Independence Day. We got invited to play with a local neighborhood team in a soccer (“football” as it’s known over here) tournament.
August 6, 2005 - Dear Friends, It seems that I can hardly wait a week sometimes before sending you all updates concerning our activities here in India. The weather here is always changing.
July 30, 2005 - Dear friends,
Greetings! I hope this letter finds you well in all areas of life. Your faithful yarping means more than we will ever know, although I constantly get to experience the blessings of Father that result from your conversations.
July 23, 2005 - Asalaam Allekum! (Peace to you!) This has certainly been a busy week since I last wrote! With our supervisor’s help, we got up and running with our service project this week. I’ll try to not bore you with a minute by minute narration, however!
July 17, 2005 - Although we have had several experiences in the first month of Monsoon season, I now know why it’s also called the “rainy season.”
July 10, 2005 - As of
July 6, Nick and I completed our home stay in the
village, and have moved back to the metropolis of Siliguri.
July 2, 2005 - Hello! This last full week at our homestead has been very busy indeed!
June 25, 2005 - So....I just drank a very cold 200 ml of Mountain Dew.
June 6, 2005 - Nomoshkar! Apni kae-mon achen? Greetings, friends! How are you?
