Sara Hull January 19th 2008 Upcoming travel: It is now Saturday here and on Wednesday morning at 4:00am, we will board our train to Delhi. There we will board our flight (at noon) to England. In South Asia, travelers must leave every 180 days. It is illegal to stay over. So, we are leaving a bit early and spending a week in London. February 1, we will fly from London to the US. In London, we plan to stay in a women's only hostel (a lot less pounds than any hotel). The exchange rate is really sad; our 1 US dollar equals half of their pound. Where we are going has a kitchen area and we will cook some meals to save a little money. During the day, we have many museums and historical places to visit - for free! At some point we will have to have some English breakfast tea and crumpets...and of course a lunch of fish and chips after walking through Westminster and across the London Bridge :). How Exciting! (maybe we will see the queen) Update on current situations: This will be my last update until I reach the US. There, I will send a final one to let everyone know that we are safely home. Also, many places have asked me to come and share stories and pictures. I will let everyone know in case they are interested. We are in the middle of packing up all our stuff, saying goodbye to all our friends and supervisors. We are also taking one last language examination. Our supervisors and coworkers in the area are planning us a going away party on Sunday night. That will be really fun and we look forward to it. We are running through many memories, lessons, and experiences in our minds, coming to final conclusions and debriefing the good and the bad. There is SO much to take away from an experience like this that I am having a hard time pulling it all together and even believing that so much has actually happened. Keep us in your thoughts and we start transitioning, leaving people and traveling long distances. Hope to see or hear from each of you in the very near future!!! Sara |
