Jeanna East Asia August 2, 2007 Hello Everyone! Another two weeks have passed and I can't believe it! English House is officially over as well as the summer term course that I have been teaching. Although it is sad to say goodbye to my roommates and students, I am ready for a break. It will be nice to have the month of August off to travel and relax after a busy month. Joanna and I are leaving for Beijing. in a couple of days. We are traveling with several people, including our supervisor Lou Jean and her nephew Jonny whom we have become good friends with. We are excited to climb the Great Wall and see the many other famous sights! We are also meeting up with Joanna's dad and flying back to our school with him! He will be here a couple of days and then Joanna and I are planning to take a train down to Shang Hai and then Hong Kong! It's gonna be so amazing to travel together especially since we don't have anything planned. We are just going to go and do whatever we feel like doing each day and take it easy! We haven't even decided when we are coming back! haha We are also hoping that this trip will help our Chinese. Learning the language has been a real challenge because of English House and teaching the summer course, so we are hoping to really dive into it now that we have much more time to devote to studying. Please ask Dad to help us in this area. Thanks! Also keep in mind the relationships that we have developed with students and roommates. Thankfully four of my five roommates are staying here for the Fall term so I will be able to see them and continue on with my relationships with them. However, my friend Fangwei is an exchange student from South China and will be leaving to go back to her home today. I have her cell phone number and will be able to keep in touch with her that way, so I am thankful for that, but be asking for opportunities to share the message with her.
