Wooderson is a native of Bolivar and graduated summa cum laude from Southwest Baptist University in 1999 with a B.M. in Church Music, a B.S. in Music Industry and a performer’s certificate in voice. He went on to receive a M.M. degree with distinction with concentrations in choral conduction and vocal performance/pedagogy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003.

While at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wooderson was a baritone soloist with the Oratorio Chorus and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. In 2001, he was a finalist in the graduate division of the Texoma Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards Auditions. He was the recipient of the Edwin McNeely Church Music Award (2000), the Ronald Howard Surrette Memorial Church Music Award (1997) and was named the Outstanding Music Graduate at Southwest Baptist University in 1999.

Wooderson currently serves as the worship pastor at First Baptist Church in Bolivar. He is an adjunct professor of music at SBU and teaches church music classes, introduction to music and applied voice.
