Harrison graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kansas with a degree in violin performance and has also received a master of arts degree from the University of Iowa. She has worked as a music specialist or special education teacher in Virginia, Oregon and Missouri.
Since moving to Missouri in 1984, Harrison has performed with the Springfield Symphony in the first violin section and has been active as a freelance performer with various churches, the Springfield Little Theater, Springfield Regional Opera, SBU productions, Fort Smith Arkansas Symphony, North Arkansas Symphony and the Chamber Orchestra of the Ozarks. She has also recorded for several Branson artists including Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Shirley Jones, Regis and Kathy Lee, and the Osmonds.
She is married to her husband, Jim, who is a retired teacher-counselor. They live in Pittsburg, Mo., and enjoy spending time with their daughter, sons, and three grandchildren.
